Emirates Airlines is making headlines by launching an initiative to become the world’s first Autism Certified Airline™, aiming to enhance travel accessibility for individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities. This groundbreaking certification will be awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) in the coming months, following extensive training for over 30,000 Emirates cabin crew and ground staff.

Recognizing the challenges faced by the autism community during air travel, Emirates is committed to implementing new standards and services throughout 2025. Key features will include sensory guides to assist travelers in navigating airport and inflight environments, as well as sensory products designed to improve comfort during flights.

This initiative supports Dubai’s vision of becoming the most accessible destination globally. Emirates has already achieved Certified Autism Center™ status for its Dubai Check-In facilities and is collaborating with Dubai Airports and local tourism organizations to promote inclusive travel. This certification represents a significant advancement in creating a welcoming travel experience for neurodiverse individuals and their families.
