This Mid-Autumn Festival, Holy Cafe, a social enterprise devoted to empowering individuals with special educational needs (SEN) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is offering a box of six mooncakes in four distinctive flavors. Priced at just $188 per box, proceeds after covering costs will go towards providing meals for elderly members of Hong Kong’s community, spreading warmth and care during the festive season.
Holy Cafe was founded by Maria Sung, an inspiring advocate for individuals with SEN and ASD, motivated by her journey as a mother to Flora, who is on the autism spectrum. Maria’s vision is to create a space where individuals with SEN and ASD can gain meaningful employment, develop confidence, and become a valued part of the community.
Building on the success of Holy Cafe, Maria has also launched a second restaurant, 喜樂點心甜品專門店, which specializes in all-day dim sum and desserts. Both locations go beyond serving food—they provide opportunities for individuals with SEN, ASD, elderly employees, and middle-aged housewives, redefining what inclusivity can look like in Hong Kong.
